Every client gets one morning a month. It is the only time we are in their space, so the plan is fixed before we arrive and the shoot is over before the lunch rush.

7:00 to 8:30

Light and the main shots: the product, the room, the first customer. We bring a phone, two small lights and a tripod. No crew, no van, nothing that makes regulars feel they walked onto a set.

8:30 to 10:00

People. The owner explaining something they explain fifty times a day, staff doing what they actually do, hands more than faces. We film twice as much as we need and keep the takes that sound like someone talking, not presenting.

By ten we are packed and gone. The month is edited from those two and a half hours.
